This is not to put you in a bad mood or get you stressed out. Clothing stores will do that all on their own, quietly be sending out announcements of the newest Back to School Clothes in a couple of days. The catalogs will be showing up in your mailbox.
I hated the beginning of school when I was young. Not because I was scared of a new teacher. Not because I wanted summer to last forever, although that would have been great, and not because I had to wake up early again
I hated the beginning of school because it meant I had to try on fall and winter clothes on hot and humid days. I would rather have been outside playing than stuck in a dressing room with a pile of clothes to try on.
On top of that it was never easy.
Those clothes were all made for my tall thin friends with the perfect figure. I was short and ” chubby ” in all the wrong places. It was torture trying to fit in, trying to wear a perfect size to be just like my friends.
That was never going to happen.
I swore that when I had kids of my own,I would never torture them when I had to buy them clothes.
In an Ironic twist of fate,I found myself working at a children’s clothing store a few years back. It was like deja vu. I found myself witnessing the exact same senario that I was tortured with. Moms and kids agonizing over getting the right clothes to fit.
Then it hit me there had to be a better way.
This cycle had to change, for the sake of moms, and for the sake of their kids.
I created a how to book and an app called Measuring Up to solve this frustrating issue.
With a step by step instructional guide to buy clothes for their children, moms are able to gain more “me” time, save money and spend more quality time with their kids away from the dressing room.
Measure Twice, Buy Once and enjoy your kids again
