IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS.
When ever I found myself at my wits end with my kids when they were little, sometimes I had to be reminded that it's the little things that mean alot.
I remember having dinner with friends, our 3 year old and their 3 year old at what we thought would be a fun " kid friendly" restaurant.
Oh, my god, what a disaster!
That night, the kids discovered the fine art of throwing spaghetti on the floor.
The more we said don't do that, the more they did it and the funnier they thought it was.
Needless to say we were totally embarrassed and mortified as the mess just escalated.
I remember us scooping they up and trying to clean their hands and face as we left the table in a hurry.
But, we also left the husbands on their hands and knees under the table intent on cleaning away any evidence of the " disaster".
Our waitress was shocked that we cared enough to help her out.
You see, we did find out that kids will be kids and what we find wrong or rude can mean something totally different to them.
I firmly believe that if we realize that our kids actions might impact someone who might not feel the same way,it is important to be sensitive to others.
It's the little things you do that make a difference.
